Brian Lewis was licensed to practice law in 1997. He earned his Bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. While there, Brian also became fluent in Spanish which he still speaks today on a daily basis. He then attended the University of Illinois College of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. Brian was one of three members of the International Moot Court team that represented the University of Illinois and he also served on the Moot Court Board.

Brian first began representing plaintiffs at the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation where he drafted legislation and fought for the rights of indigent clients. He then worked at a prominent defense firm in Chicago for two years focusing primarily on product liability and medical malpractice cases. These included asbestos, latex glove and Fen-Phen litigation.

Brian returned to representing plaintiffs in 1999 when he joined the team at Baizer Kolar & Lewis, P.C. Since that time he has devoted his practice solely to the areas of medical malpractice and general personal injury matters. Brian has orchestrated multimillion dollar settlements and verdicts on behalf of the clients of the firm. These include a $4.25 million settlement for a 15 month old girl who sustained brain damage as a result of doctors' negligence, and a $1 million settlement for a family who lost their husband/father due to undiagnosed colorectal cancer.

In December 2003, Brian won a $1.2 million verdict against Northwest Airlines on behalf of a client who was injured due to a flight attendant's negligence.

In May 2006, Brian obtained a $17 million verdict on behalf of his client who was run over by a car in the driveway of her home. She suffered life-threatening injuries, but made a remarkable recovery.

Brian is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association and Lake County Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice.
